Kyle Says: “At the age of 12, I entered my first downhill mountain bike race coming 9th and in the next sadly crashed, no races in 2020 due to Covid but luckily in late 2021 there was National Champs in Carrick.

It was my first proper dh race in under 14 with a lot of quick young lads in my category, I was happy to achieve 5th place in that race.

Onto 2022 I entered National Champs in Bree, hungry for a better result! I came 5th in the seeding run wasn’t happy with that but waited for the next day, I pushed myself hard and got down smoothly and took third in under 14s national champs that was my first podium and I was delighted after that I entered Bree round 2 knowing I could do better I did my seeding run ended up third again I knew I had second in me so for my race run I pushed as hard as I could and took second, I was buzzing.

The last race of the season was in the GAP I wanted the top step because it is my main place to ride so I entered that race with desire for first went up for seeding and got second, I didn’t mind it but I wanted better, did my race run and got second again I was obviously happy but really wanted that top step, that season placed me 4th overall in under 14s I missed out on the Rostrevor DH because I wasn’t available to race.

Onto 2023. I had an alright start to my off season but ended up breaking my collarbone I was off the bike for 2 months and got back in December 2022 when I came back I put in good work and was excited for the 2023 season. First race is on in Carrick I was loving the track all practice day but crashed and didn’t do seeding. Then race day arrived and I wasn’t sure how I would do but I pushed and got down quickly and secured second place in under 16s which was a hard category. I was happy out with this result because it was my first year in under 16 with some quick lads. Then onto National Champs in the GAP I was determined to get the National Champ title for under 16s but unfortunately had an end to my season with a crash that broke my collarbone so I missed out on 3 races I was annoyed that I crashed bad again but it is part and parcel of downhill “high risk high reward” this winter so far I have been grinding hard and determined to come into race season 2024 under 16s for the top step and Race abroad for the first time.

Over the years, I have amassed an impressive list of accomplishments, including multiple podium finishes in regional and national competitions. My fearless riding style and unwavering determination have earned me the respect of peers and the admiration of fans around the world. My goal is to make it to the world scene one day and to make a living out of the sport I love doing. So hopefully one day you will see my on the world scene podium.
